memory mapped i/o port

On i386 board the base address for lpt1 is 0x378, which can be used for direct parallel port access for let's say request_region(). Now for memory mapped i/o where i use the function request_mem_region(), what is the base address. Or Can we use memory mapped io on i386. for ppc, the example code has given some base address, but not for i386. Any pointers or help in the regard?

AFAIK, the LPT device has no memory mapped I/O registers in a PC.
